The Brat Pak ~ Home Daycare & Preschool.

We serve healthy 80% vegetarian home cooked meals which are preservative free with no added salt or sugar.  I make my own bread, cashew cheese & yogurt. Our vegetables are organic or locally grown. I am even dabbling with making my own pasta. At the moment we are dairy free unless you request milk products.

Each summer we plant a vegetable and herb garden with our children which encouage ownership of what they tend and grow, which translates into... my children readily eat their veggies.

Treats are mostly home made, I own a commercial dehydrator and a Vitamix. E.G. Cale chips & real fruit roll-ups, healthy cookies. Unless your child needs milk they will be introduced to the healthy habit of drinking water. If given juice  at parties it will be made using my trusty juicer.

We of course cater to differing food allergies, with the exception of extreme peanut allergies. We also offer Vegan options.

Our menu is very similar every month and is posted on the parent notice board. We tend to stick with child favorites often adjusting the spices, vegies and fruits we use depending on the season. I try at least two new dishes each month subtracting the least favoured ones. In the summer months we add a lot of picnic type foods as we eat  lunch outdoors whenever we can. On special occasions such as birthdays the birthday child chooses what they would like. At Easter the bunnies we invite to lunch dictate what we eat and of course Halloween  is the food choice of the spooks. Christmas is Santa's choice and on St Patrick's day the leprechauns insist on lamb stew  On thanksgiving parents pitch in and the children make, Stone Stew.
